Dominica is an island located between the Caribbean Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean and is part of the Caribbean West Indies. The nature island consists of a total area of 751 sq. kilometres and has a population of 73.499. In 1978 the island granted its independence from Britain. The new era of freedom and independence brought increased challenges, and economic and political struggles. 

Today, the Government of Dominica is investing heavily in tourism to drive economic development, focusing on the island's unsurpassed natural beauty, and the popularity of diving, hiking and eco tours. Dominica boasts wonderful examples of Caribbean architecture with a distinctive mix of French, English and Spanish influences. The island’s natural beauty of tropical forests, rivers and waterfalls are a major tourist attraction.

Dominican Citizenship by Investment Program

Established by law in 1993, Dominica’s citizenship by investment programme is considered to be one of the most affordable programmes in the Caribbean. 

The Citizenship by Investment Programme is detailed in Sections 8 and 20(1) of the Commonwealth of Dominica Citizenship Act and in the Commonwealth of Dominica Citizenship by Investment Regulations, 2014. The Citizenship by Investment Unit (CBIU), which processes all applications under the Programme, was formed pursuant to Regulation No. 3.

The highly reputable Citizenship by Investment Programme in Dominica invites investors of good character to make an economic contribution to Dominica and in exchange, the applicant and their family are eligible to obtain full citizenship of the country, within the strict guidelines of the law.

Commonwealth of Dominica Economic Citizenship Program for Foreign Investors

To qualify for citizenship of the Commonwealth of Dominica the primary applicant must be over 18 years old, meet the application requirements and select one of the following investment options:

Procedure for the Dominican Citizenship by Investment application

We set-out below the steps of the process of applying for citizenship of the Commonwealth of Dominica:
  1. Preparation and filling of application forms 
  2. Submission of applications and supporting documentation 
  3. Government processing of the applications and due diligence checks 
  4. Government approval of application 
  5. Investment in real estate or contribution to the Government Fund 
  6. Issuance of citizenship certificate 
  7. Application for passport and issuance of passport
The process to obtain the citizenship of the Commonwealth of Dominica is expected to take up to 4 months following the submission of the applications to the Government of Dominica.
