On September 23, the government of St Kitts and Nevis announced the establishment of the Hurricane Relief Fund, which is to be hosted by the Citizenship Investment Unit.

The investment product will see a proportion of the investment going into the Hurricane Relief Fund to be distributed upon application. Citizenship by Investment applicants will make a non-refundable contributions that will go into the Hurricane Relief Fund.

The funds received will be used to restore St Kitts and Nevis after the hurricane, as well as to help neighbouring countries affected by the hurricane.

Citizenship by investment applicants are now required to make the following contributions to qualify for citizenship:
  • US$150,000 for a single applicant
  • US$150,000 for a family of four (4) main applicant, spouse and two (2) dependents
  • US$25,000 for any additional qualified dependents
  • Due diligence and application processing fees remain the same  
An added benefit of this CIP is that citizens may travel visa-free to Russia for up to 90 days. 

The fund will remain open until the end of March 2018.
