About Saint Kitts and Nevis
The Federation of Saint Christopher and Nevis is the smallest sovereign state in the Americas and located in the Leeward Islands of the West Indies, in the Caribbean Sea. The two islands are united by the Federation with a total area of 261 sq. kilometers and a population of 53.000.
St Kitts is larger than Nevis and is roughly oval shaped except for a narrow, long peninsula to the southeast. Nevis is surrounded by coral reefs and is almost a single mountain with a height of 3.232 feet. The two-island nation combines beaches with beautoful mountains. The legacies of the sugar industry survive in pleasant plantation inns and the local culture is mellow, friendly and infused with a pulsing social beat.
