Dominica to Get Visa-Free Access to Russia, UAE, Possibly China, Says Prime Minister Skerrit

Dominica is working to expand the list of countries which its citizens and passport holders can enjoy visa-free travel to. Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit of Dominica, during a meet and greet with citizenship by investment investors in the United Arab Emirates in April 2018, says his country is in the final stages of clinching a visa-waiver agreement with both Russia and the UAE, and is actively engaged in negotiations for a similar agreement with China.

As per Prime Minister of Dominica, Skerrit, the country is in the advanced stages of negotiations with the authority of the UAE. They have been given the approval in principle, which is now with the Ministry of the Interior here. Once it is cleared they will move to sign the agreement.

Dominica also has gotten approval for Russia, and in this stage they are waiting for the Russian authorities to sign off on it, at an event reportedly taking place last month in Dubai.

The Prime Minister further revealed that his government was in talks with China and they have negotiations with them

Dominica is known as the ‘Nature Island of the Caribbean’ due to its unspoiled natural beauty. Dominica is a member of the Commonwealth of Nations, the United Nations (UN), the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), the Organisation of American States (OAS), and the International Organisation of La Francophonie.

Dominican passport holders currently enjoy visa-free travel to Schengen countries, the European Union, Bulgaria, Cyprus and Romania.
